Popis: Za malého vodního stavu stále sjízdné, na paddleboardu ideální obtížnost. Pouze poslední katarakt jsme dali radši v kleče. Parádní byla i návštěva soutěsky.

Popis: We parked next to the former soccer field (now a bike pump track)—a gravelly stretch of shore right next to the street, maybe 5 meters from the car. From there, I drove the car up to the P+R parking lot at the train station and walked back, while Judit inflated the boats. We followed the description on flusswandern.at, but right at the start we encountered a surprise: just before the covered footbridge, the river had been significantly narrowed by a construction site on the right, and there was a fairly large rapid. There were also smaller rapids further along. At the launch site, the river’s flow was about 10 m³/s; the current was fast, and we maintained an average speed of over 9 km/h. The water gauge in Schladming is malfunctioning; it has been at the same level for days, even though it has rained a lot, so I won't include that data. The water is blue-green and clear down to about a meter deep. In Pruggern, on the right bank before the bridge, there’s a restaurant where you can get up—we had a delicious lunch there. From there downstream, there are only a few small rapids, after which the difficulty drops to ZW, though the current remains quite fast here as well. A small river called Salza flows in from the left; we paddled half a kilometer up it and then back. The water is very clear, shaded by the trees along the bank, and only 4–6 meters wide. It would be nice to paddle here too, but the water comes from a reservoir, so whether it’s paddleable depends on the small hydroelectric plant. At Stainach, we got out on the right bank under the bridge near the train station—there’s no other place to do so. We set the boats down on large rocks, but at least there’s a narrow path leading to a nice grassy area where you can neatly stow the boats. From there, it’s about a 12-minute walk to the station. The train runs back to Schladming every hour.
